BAJA PRE RUNNER

Summary

1972 Ford F100 – Baja Pre Runner. New and faithfully built to competition spec's using the National Off Road Racing Association NORRA rule books of the early 70's to campaign a practice trip down Baja for the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally.

 

The authentic FE 390 big block  (build VR#0005) is a one-of-a-kind vehicle with a keen focus on vintage style, appearance and performance. VR#005 is the way they were built back in the day when fire roads and horse trials were your only way to La Paz.

 

The vehicle features a completely renewed / refreshed Ford 390 & Ford C6 Transmission with period correct bolt on speed equipment –Edelbrock, Kelsey Hayes, Hurst, Hooker, Hella, Winters, Ultra & BF Goodrich. New top to bottom custom build, including all-steel body modifications, AutoFab I-Beam suspension/ geometry, minimalist interior, drive train, and overall styling using era correct modifications. Vintage inspired hand polished paint, and hand painted lettering aare being added. All original trim and patina remains where possible, to exude a 50 year old barn find.

 

The F100 is designed to drive to local car shows, yet delivers performance to be taken off road.

 

VR#005 is serial numbered using build plates and registered to new owner as an inaugural member of new vintage racer car club that will tour car shows and track days as gentlemen racers in the Southwest and California.
